Supportive: We have many opportunities for volunteers who wish to serve in a supportive role aside from our facilities and direct program involvement. This includes volunteering in our office, working at one of our fundraising events, or serving in a supportive role for our programs.
Once A Year:
- Throughout the year Riverwoods holds several fundraising events including an annual banquet, two telethons and a golf outing. We need volunteers to serve on the day of each of these events. We also need volunteers to help plan and coordinate in the months preceding these events. This includes volunteers to help with mailings, phoning, coordinating other volunteers, etc.
- Periodically throughout the school-year we hold weekend retreats for our community leadership teenagers. A great way to serve and to interact with the teens is to come out and serve in our kitchen during the weekend and share in the meal times. Come for one meal, or stay for the whole weekend!
Monthly Opportunities
- Come spend a day each month working in our office. We always need volunteers to answer phones, help with copying, filing, mailings, help with special projects, etc. It's a fun way to interact with our staff and use your clerical skills to help serve local families.
- Use your professional skills- the families served by Riverwoods often do not have the resources they need for professional services such as healthcare, financial services, tax preparation, legal services, vehicle maintenance and many other professional services. Let us know what your skills are and when you're available and we?ll connect you with some families who need your specific service.

This takes an ongoing commitment and is a great way to make a lifelong impact on the life of a teenager.
